Matt Darrah
Matt Darrah manages First American Title’s National Energy Services Office which has over 30 title and escrow professionals focused exclusively on new build energy projects. He has been in the title insurance industry for over 24 years starting in a small agency, then as a paralegal and after that at one of the largest national title agents in the country where he helped start their national services division.
Matt jumped at the opportunity to join First American Title National Commercial Services in 2016 having worked with many of the state offices prior to that. Since then, he has focused on energy projects and has underwritten some of the largest projects in the country with his team, including Vineyard Wind 1, the first major off-shore wind farm in the U.S., Traverse Wind, the largest on-shore wind farm in the U.S., and numerous other projects.

Jake Schipaanboord
Jake Schipaanboord serves as Senior Energy Underwriting Counsel at First American Title Insurance Company since 2022. Prior to joining First American Title, Jacob was a Renewable Energy Partner at Lear & Lear, PLLC, Director of Real Estate with The AES Corporation, and Real Estate Director and Counsel with sPower. His experience includes underwriting deals with renewable energy, oil and gas, environmental concerns, natural resources, federal lands, and mining
Jacob earned his Juris Doctor of Law from the University of Utah, S.J. Quinney College of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English language and literature.
