Bethany Flanders
Bethany Flanders serves as Senior Underwriting Counsel for the National Commercial Services Division of First American Title Insurance Company. She has been a commercial underwriter at First American for nearly ten years.
She works primarily on national complex commercial transactions involving intricate taxing structures as well as review of detailed authority and entity organizations. In addition to handling national transactions, she routinely advises other offices and clients on the complicated recording taxation statutes for her home state of Maryland.

Stephen Meli
Stephen Meli serves as Senior Underwriting Counsel for the National Commercial Services Division of First American Title Insurance Company in the Washington D.C. NCS Office. He has over 10 years’ experience underwriting complex commercial transactions and joined First American Title in January 2022.
Prior to that, Stephen served as Assistant Vice President – Associate Senior Underwriting Counsel for Commercial Services for Stewart Title. He is currently barred in Virginia and the District of Columbia.
