Matt is the Division Underwriting Counsel for the National Commercial Services division of First American Title Insurance Company. Matt provides underwriting and legal advise, guidance and decision-making with respect to issuing title insurance and providing settlement services for complex, multi-state and multi-site commercial real estate transactions.
Prior to joining First American, Matt was a shareholder at H3GM, a Nashville law firm. There, Matt was a member of his firm's commercial real estate, commercial financing, and corporate practice groups. For ten years, Matt advised private and public companies in matters related to real estate transactions, commercial finance, planning and zoning matters, eminent domain, and municipal law. In addition, Matt served as the City Attorney for the City of Forest Hills, Tennessee, for seven years.

Kirk Strandjord
Senior Underwriting Counsel | First American Title
Kirk Strandjord serves as Senior Underwriting Counsel in Seattle for the National Commercial Services division of First American Title Insurance Company – a member of the First American Financial Corporation family of companies.
Kirk began his career as a commercial real estate attorney in the Puget Sound area. Serving the needs of medical offices, tenants and mixed-use multifamily apartment developers, Kirk’s path led to him to collaborate with title insurers on numerous projects. Moving in-house, he now has the privilege of working with First American Title’s National Commercial Services team, providing underwriting support for transactions across the country. He is an experienced real estate and contracts attorney with expertise in managing equity acquisitions; counseling clients on Municipal and County land use regulations; and navigating through land development projects.
